Getting to the ROOT of things!
Do you sometimes feel like you’re all over the place, disconnected, and don’t know which way you’re headed in life? Just know that you’re not alone, and the tips to getting balance that follows will help you get started on the right track!
What’s the cause of imbalance?
Worry, doubt, and fear are some of the main characters in your energetic space, and they toy with the Root Chakra to bring imbalance to your life.
What is the Root Chakra? It is one of the 7 main Chakras that is located within the center of the body, running upwards from the base of the spine, to the crown of the head. The Root Chakra sits at the base of the spine, and is the seat of your sense of safety and stability.
Think about building a house. In order to build a house that you can live in for years to come, there has to be a solid foundation. If you don’t put time and effort into making sure your foundation is right, you run the risk of having a house that can give way at any given moment! If your foundation is uneven, over time your house can develop stress cracks, cracks that have carried the load of things improperly, and eventually, with a good rain, wind, or snow storm can cause your house to cave!
Your body is the house you live in!
What are some of the things that can cause your house to fall? Some of the storms that bring your physical house to its knees are worry, doubt, and fear, when any of these things become present in your life, they begin to cause cracks.
Worry (negative thinking) can trigger the fight-or-flight response that brings on stress, and can cause you to have headaches, depression, trouble sleeping, high blood sugar levels, and a heap of other issues that can harm your body.
Crack 2 = Doubt:
Doubt can lead to the lack of motivation and procrastination, the inability to get things done. Doubting can also have you all over the place, because you are unsure of what exactly to do.
Crack 3 = Fear:
Fear brings on stress, and eventually can cause cardiovascular damage by raising your blood pressure and heart rate.
How to get back on track?
Grounding is the key to balancing the Root Chakra! When you arise in the morning, take a shower. Enjoying some time in water can lift your mood to a positive frequency. Dress yourself in something red. Red gives off an energy of being stable and grounded, while helping you to feel like you belong. Now, go for a walk in nature and make a connection with mother earth. Find a nice space by a tree, sit comfortably, close your eyes, clear your mind by taking in some deep cleansing breaths, and focus on being connected to where you are, and know that you are right where you need to be!
